Science is not considered a humanities, but in the past science was called natural philosophy, and philosophy is a humanities.

A study by Wellesley Collage placed the levels of education as:

- Believing that an
education consists of memorizing facts established
  by experts. (Lowest)
- Realizing that the experts disagree. Knowledge becomes a matter
  of opinion or gut instinct.
(stage 2)
- Doing exactly what their teachers want. (stage 3)

They placed the next two as highest and equal:

- Deliberately bias yourself. When you examine the work of others, you give them the strongest interpretation possible. Women tend to do this, and men tend to do the later.
- You
objectively examine ideas, are skeptical, and unbiased. You are aware of your own thinking and mistakes, and the thinking and errors of others. Everything is up for debate. Men tend to do this.

Place these levels of education in their proper order:

You see beliefs as having shades of gray.
You beliefs as either black or white, but not both.
You see beliefs as both black and white.
